WIW 6/14 Brunch-a-munch

Met Jenava for brunch, with the obligatory mimosas.

TopShop cropped tee, H&M high waisted denim shorts.
These Sigerson Morrison sandal boots are now about five years old, when the company was run by the namesake designers. I remember Angie at the time advised against them. But I wear them every summer, and now this year they're everywhere.

WIW 6/6, sailoresque

Going to a BBQ this evening.
Wearing my new H&M gold buttoned sailor shorts, ancient Zara t-shirt, Chloe sunglasses and ancient Matt Bernson gladiator sandals. I tried my Teva flatforms first but they just didn't quite go, too casual.
Ignore the super glamourous bags of potting soil on the balcony.

WIW, size 14 pants 90's style

So here are the size 14 H&M wide leg cropped pants. I decided to keep the Stella McCartney espadrille sneakers. They're actually really comfortable so far as I was able to run for the bus in them.
T-shirt is true vintage concert from the mid nineties, yikes that was a long time ago. It was the David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails concert. I was living in Portland, OR at the time. My roommate was sorta dating a guy but basically using him for free dinners. Anyways he was a huge David Bowie fan and got tickets for them. I was walking home and she was already in his car heading off to the concert. She jumped out and told me to go the concert with him. I'm pretty sure he was very surprised, but was on the meek side so didn't protest. We had general admission tickets on the floor. Trent Reznor started the concert. Guy didn't care and left me on the floor for that part and went in search of those crappy arena plastic cheese nachos. It was a bit uncomfortable to be alone, surrounded by tons of screaming fifteen year old boys singing at the top of their lungs " I want to **** like an animal" Guy came back in time for David Bowie, who during that tour was not doing his old material. Though there was an absolute amazing variation on "Under Pressure" So I still have the t-shirt and the weird memory. Needless to say their relationship didn't last long.
Worn with a Turkish collar necklace, American Apparel dark purple clutch, and Karen Walker sunglasses.
To be truly nineties I wore brown lipstick, but will probably switch to purple for going out tonight.
Sorry morning pictures not the best light.

WIW 3/27 communal table

Tonight I'm going out with my friend to restaurant that does a fixed menu with a communal table. Luckily this month is seafood themed.
A bit of fun before my Dad arrives tomorrow.
Wearing Acne moto. Target leopard cardigan which I buttoned all the way up; I'm intrigued by wearing a very tradition conservative cardigan shape but contrasting with a decidedly not conservative outfit. This cardigan is about 5 to 6 years old, I've waffled about getting rid of it many times, but it's the perfect leopard pattern and the quality has held up very well. R13 ripped jeans. New to me Robert Clergerie peep toe sling back wedges which I got at the consignment store I took some from the Seattle Inge Fest last September. They've never been worn, and I got them for about 60% off retail.
Over flashed picture, but somehow it looks like certain fashion photographers style.

WIW 3/21 bussing the city

So today I took a bus to the University of Washington to check out the Japanese cherry trees that were blossoming. They peaked last weekend, but I was on call. We've gotten a lot a rain since then and it was windy today, so I was afraid they'd be decimated. They looked pretty good to me.
I then took the bus back west across the city to Ballard to go to a record store. The university district had no record stores, further proof that the young uns aren't buying CD's. I bought Madonna's newest CD, have no idea if it's even good. I even gambled and got the deluxe version.
Outfit picture was taken in the late afternoon when light was harsh.
Acne pony hair cap, Acne leather moto. APC striped cashmere sweater, True Religion Cameron boyfriend jeans. And I'm wearing purple lipstick, Mac's Heroine.
Bonus pictures of the cherry blossoms. I lucked out because today alternated between sun and rain.

WIW 3/20 Basic

So due to work and dealing with my Dad I haven't had any free time.
Today I'm getting a new fridge delivered. Signs of adulthood, being excited about new appliances.
The weird spring we've been having has me wearing mostly sweatshirts. I had a Barneys coupon to burn that was going to expire. I went downtown yesterday and sales associate and looked through all the women's offerings. One zip-up was horrid. There was a cute off-white hoodie but it was short sleeve and it's not quite warm enough for that.
He found this in the men's department:
http://www.barneys.com/saturda.....l#start=24
It's amazing fabric and it just seemed perfect. Also it does not have French writing on it like so many sweatshirts. It was also about 1/3 of all the other stuff.

Today I tried my Chimala raw jeans, a striped shirt and a traditional Nordic cardigan and red lipstick. It just didn't look right, at all.
I scrubbed off the red lipstick, went back into my closet, and eh. Nothing seemed right. So I decided to try my new sweatshirt. It seemed perfect for the weather. Added my Acne Pistol ankle boots; I do like the contrast of the raw hem of the jeans with the suede and heel height. Chloe bag and put on a nude lipstick.
So not necessarily cutting edge, but right now it works. Also possibly shows influence of Madewell and LaGarconne.

WIW 3/1 sorta seventies

So I really liked the whole vibe of the Alexa Chung for AG Jeans collection and decided to keep the dress. About two weeks ago I found the skirt version at Anthropologie, I wasn't sure.
Then I saw this blogger's take on it
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/371758144216552865/

I decided this would be a good transition piece to wear with sweaters, etc. I went back for it about a week later. I also read a review saying that it ran small, which helped me figure out the sizing. I don't know if the sizing is exclusive to this collection or also part of the overall shift in denim sizing that Angie talked about.

Wearing with ancient Scottish cashmere sweater from the 70's, that had a convoluted path through my family. Alexa Chung for AG Kety skirt, smart wool socks and dark brown Frye boots.
The socks are above the knee, but I didn't like how it looked, so I scrunched them down.
I'm trying to remember how do all the settings on my camera, so lighting isn't the best.
Bonus shots of steampunk penguin in my neighbor's yard. It has a story. He was left in a park near me with a letter attached it to. It said his jet pack ran out of fuel so this was safest place to land. He did notice that there some friends nearby and hoped to be with them. My neighbor has three penguins on his front step, so he was added to the group.

WIW 2/14, what's the phrase

So a long while ago I abandoned the forum and posting outfits. Though some of you may have noticed me sneaking in sometimes to post and comment.
Anyways the phrase of indeterminate origin:
Man plans, God laughs.
That currently applies to my life. I did take a huge shopping break from mid October to early January.
So for the heck of it I took a picture of my outfit. It's not the best photo, as I had about five minutes to set up my tripod and remember how to set the self timer.
Yes, today is Valentine's Day, and yes I'm still single.
But one of my friend's organized a totally awesome event. It's called Puzzle Break. You are locked in a room for one hour and need to figure out a series of logic and other types of puzzles to find the key to escape. It has a 21% success rate. We did not make it, were probably 10 minutes away. Some of the puzzles were crazy hard.
Anyways I'm wearing a mixture of low, mid and high end.
Pendleton Portland Collection cardigan, H&M chambray dress, Acne Studios Pistol ankle boots, and Chloe bag.
Right now I'm fixated on all forms of denim and chambray.
It's been unseasonably warm all winter in Seattle. Bonus shot of sunset when I got home.
