WIW 3/1 sorta seventies

So I really liked the whole vibe of the Alexa Chung for AG Jeans collection and decided to keep the dress. About two weeks ago I found the skirt version at Anthropologie, I wasn't sure.
Then I saw this blogger's take on it
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/371758144216552865/

I decided this would be a good transition piece to wear with sweaters, etc. I went back for it about a week later. I also read a review saying that it ran small, which helped me figure out the sizing. I don't know if the sizing is exclusive to this collection or also part of the overall shift in denim sizing that Angie talked about.

Wearing with ancient Scottish cashmere sweater from the 70's, that had a convoluted path through my family. Alexa Chung for AG Kety skirt, smart wool socks and dark brown Frye boots.
The socks are above the knee, but I didn't like how it looked, so I scrunched them down.
I'm trying to remember how do all the settings on my camera, so lighting isn't the best.
Bonus shots of steampunk penguin in my neighbor's yard. It has a story. He was left in a park near me with a letter attached it to. It said his jet pack ran out of fuel so this was safest place to land. He did notice that there some friends nearby and hoped to be with them. My neighbor has three penguins on his front step, so he was added to the group.

See, this is why I miss cities which have an overall higher IQ and creativity level.  'Round here the penguin would have gone to the dump…

I love that skirt and 15 years ago it would have been mine.  I'm glad to see someone got it, it's a great look for you and I noticed the scrunched socks right away as the perfect effortless detail.  Both practical and picking up the warm oatmeal color of the turtleneck.

I just read on one of my favorite blogs, Stockholm Street Style, that it's all about the beiges this Spring!

nice look! love the hand-me down sweater, a great color on you.

that penguin and his travels are awesome

That penguin just made my day.

I like the outfit a lot, and the sweater is such a good match for the skirt.

LOVE the penguin as much as seeing you back in a boho look. How FUN that you kind of turned full circle, Anna. (I really miss your outfits here on YLF).

Much prefer your version to the pin - and I always do, don't I. The socks peaking out from the boots are divine, and the outfit makes your already long legs look extra long.

A great A-line skirt shape - better than pencil in that length. FABULOUS, and nicely done.

Say hi to Dad for me.

Super cool! Love the skirt and boots combo with the socks peeking out.

    Steampunk penguin <3

The penguin and his story crack me up!  I wonder if the person who left him there chuckles every time he sees him your neighbor's yard. I know I would. :)

You look fabulous. Great take on the 70s look, and I like an A-line skirt on you better than a pencil. I think it feels more spunky and less corporate.

I love your outfit and the way you've scrunched your socks with your boots. Scottish cashmere certainly can go the distance.

    Great penguin story!

I've been eyeballing that skirt too - love the way it looks on you.  Laughing at the penguin story - gotta love people with an excellent sense of humour .

I like it and I like the penguin too.

I have been off denim skirts after overdosing on them around 2002-2005 when I had a few different versions.  But this is a cool way to revive them.

What an awesome penguin storry!  ANd even better outfit!  I am really into 70's stuff, and this is pure perfection.  I love how boots and scrunched down socks work with that skirt.

So nice to see you and your outfit(s) again. I see why you've kept the sweater around all this time; it is very flattering on you.

The steampunk penguin is fantastic, as is his backstory.

I love the penguin story! Great outfit! The socks and boots look great with the skirt and sweater.

I really like your skirt outift--the sweater socks, and boots are just great with it. And the penguin story is a hoot (mixed bird references intended!)--I'm thinking like Thistle that someone is getting an extra big kick out of it.

Very cool 70's vibe to your outfit, and what a fun story about the penguin!

Nicely done. The sunglasses are also a perfect addition to the entire look.
    Great yard art story.

You have the best eye for the look of the moment.

Must get on to the whole AG vibe in my spare time. Missing something incredibly important to the world clearly.
