WIW 6/7 The Culottes

I got the Rachel Comey denim culottes this week. I love them. Though they are longer on me than the model. By the way, they're made in mid-town Manhattan. I will have to keep an eye on other things by her.
Worn with Kenzo "No Fish, No Nothing" shirt. JCrew necklace, American Apparel aqua clutch, Tom Ford white iridescent cat-eye sunglasses, and LD Tuttle The Creature sandals.
I even painted my toes dark blue.
Going to have lunch with a friend. Then a hair appointment, roots-be-gone.

Oh, I love these!  Better on you than the model!

And I also love the way you've styled these.  Would love to see you walking down the street!

Wow, amazing styling, Anna! How are you wearing the top? Is it tucked in front and not in back? It works brilliantly with the culottes. And here some of us were telling you to go simple....nope. You know your style better and you know what will be unique and special. Great outfit for a Saturday!

Anna, you look amazing! I LOVE your outfit. Such fun. So cool.

I really like the current very wide leg (but not flares) shape we are seeing in trousers. I've been looking for some very wide legged cropped trousers like these: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a122.....600/19.jpg without success. The only Marni ones I could find contain polyester, which means there is no way I'd buy them, but not sure if the ones I have found are the ones pictured anyway, because it says "cotton" on the picture. Looks as though I'll just have to make some myself.

I'm in awe over how you can make so many things that would look frumpy and dumpy on me look so fresh and fashion forward. You have an incredible ability to put together great outfit. FAB

    Killer

I love the culottes. I also love the top, clutch and the sunnies. Such a fun and happy outfit - to go with your pretty smile eyes. You complimented the beautiful sunshine and the great view at lunch just perfectly, Anna. xo

Oh yes. And the Princess Leia 'do is adorably fun. And just a dash quirky. Super cute.

Anna, don't be blue. Or okay, go ahead, because the blues look great on you. Fun shirt and culottes, and love your styling with the bag, cool sandals, and blue pedi. Oh, and the summery shades!

I enjoy how you show me what can be done with fashion, Anna. You look stunning, compelling and put together. So fresh! That T and clutch combo with the culottes is perfection.

Wow Anna! Much better than I imagined from the stock pictures. I also love the colors on you!

So after lunch I was milling around the stores downtown waiting for a different friend. The clerk in BCBG loved my outfit so much that she took a picture of it. Which is pretty funny, because this doesn't look like their aesthetic at all.

I wasn't sure when you first posted the culottes, since they do have frump potential, but you definitely pull it off with a dose of awesome!

This outfit is incredibly awesome, Anna!

What a great, fun, look!  And it looks like the happiness factor is high!

Love the "I'm on my way to the salon" hairdo!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

I guess the clerk can appreciate a different aesthetic, which is a good thing. But also -- there is something about this particular outfit (and the patchwork jeans one, too) that is just so special on you, so "fitting" somehow yet so unique, that I can understand why it might attract attention. This is playing with fashion but it's also real personal style. Sometimes we see people doing one. Sometimes we see them doing the other. It's really rare to see them in combination, actually. An achievement.

Now that girl is a true runway look :). You look smashing! So so well styled! Wow!

I love the culottes and how you have styled them.  They look amazing.  I have a pair of cropped black linen wide legged pants that I love.  Culottes are so FAB and versatile.  I love the shoes too.

Well you may recall that I wasn't sure about these but I now bow to the master!

This is a very 'runway' look but one that translates well into real life.  I do think you are quite amazing Anna.  If I wore those pants, I would look frump and ridiculous :)  I am not sure I have your vision.

I loooooove the culottes so much!! Ah this outfit makes me happy on an emotional-I-can't-explain-it way :D So I won't, though I will say I really like the hi-low mix here. Amazing outfit.
