WIW 5/11 Second hand camo and tulle

Going to see the movie, "The Lunchbox" with some friends.

So yesterday I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell. I found this Gap camo jacket and no-name tulle skirt. So basically they cost me nothing.
I really like the way this outift looks, but I'm wondering if it is a bit young. What do you think? I've been lusting after a tulle skirt for a long time.
Worn with James Perse drapey tee, multichain gold necklace, Karen Walker sunglasses, Chloe bag and LD Tuttle The Remove peep toe booties.

I love this look. I think that you have styled it to make the skirt more grown up, but at the same time, the skirt makes the whole thing more fun! And I love it with those shoes!!

    Killer

Love, love, love. I don't think the outfit reads too young. I like the way you added a sophisticated and "grown-up" edge with the shoes and accessories. Plus the skirt isn't that short, which is really the main reason it's not a juvenile look.

Not too young at all, would never have thought of that.
    Very fun and playful. nice.

tulle!! - you can definitely pull this off!! - I think it doesn't read too young because of the black and the way you styled the rest of the ensemble!!

Not too young at all! I like the hard edge of the camo paired with the skirt. The shoes are amazing in that they blend completely with your leg, yet when you do notice them they are super cool. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me.

It doesn't look young the way you have it styled. The camo jacket with the tulle skirt is brilliant.

Good score!  Yay that you found a tulle skirt and I like the color and weathering of the camo top.  I think the sophisticated sunglasses, bag and especially booties prevent it from reading too young,  but it does read as fun, which is great!

    Pure fun!
Did you like The Lunchbox? I want to see it but doubt we can before it leaves. The previews looked good.

Anna, I love your sense of playfulness and adventure, and your bold combinations, and this is no exception!
What a fun and unexpected combo- YLF!

One of my sub style personas LOVES tulle skirts :)  I really like this and I don't think it reads too young at all.  I wouldn't mind seeing a version of this outfit with a longer skirt also but this works and looks pretty fab.  Love the shoes:)

Love it! (You can totally pull of the tulle skirt but perhaps you need a viewer advisory not to try this at home.)

  • Mia replied 9 years ago

"Too young" would not have occurred to me looking at your pics.  More like,
"she nailed it", "advanced style class" and "she looks fab".

Yayy for the tulle skirt!! And nope it doesn't look twee because its black and the camo keeps it from being too sweet. I like your choice of footwear too.

Camo and tulle, whoda thunk?  Certainly not me before I started window shopping on your fun and imaginative side of the fashion boulevard.  Anna, I'm appreciating more and more your style adventures.  Hope it's okay I tag along and broaden my horizons.  This outfit is so cute and I love the booties!

I hate to be the voice, the one, and I do have a great appreciation of your outfits. The outfit as a whole kind of works for me. But, it reads kind of young to me. I like the black of the tulle. I think it is the hemline of the skirt, There is an explosion of young teens wearing this type of skirt. Maybe I have a poison eye for this style. but I think the Black just saves it.
