WIW 1/2 Blue Christmas, channeling Elvis

So yes it's after Christmas but one of my Christmas presents from my father arrived today.

Pendleton washable wool shirt with western styling. Denise (Cocolion) liked this color best for me, and my original choice was sold out in my size. I think she was right and this is a better color for me. R13 harem jeans, Acne pale blue-grey boots, and random old ice blue belt. Also new sunglasses from my Dad. They're by Balenciaga with pearlized teal and swirled browns and greys.
I tried this with my mixed pearl and chain necklace, and also one shirt tail tuck. It didn't work, looked disingenuous (not sure if that's the right word).
Sun is low so it was hard to get good photos.

Denise was right -- this colour is gorgeous on you. I love this whole thing. The boots are fantastic! You must be enjoying the sunshine, too.

This is such a great look! Those blues are sublime on you. You look natural and so pretty in this, Anna! Happy new year :)

Another fan here! Those blues and icy blue-greys really are fantastic on you. And what a brilliant gift from your father!

Wow! Love the shirt. And the boots look great with the shirt also. Not a fan of the jeans, though.

    Love the shirt!

This is fab, the colors are amazing on you. Good call on not doing the one-tail tuck - you are right, it would have looked super contrived. As it is, this looks perfect and natural and carefree.

Pendleton makes the best plaid shirts! Go Dad!

Way to go Anna's Dad!!! This outfit is seriously making me want a plaid shirt. Love these blues on you - brilliant with your hair and skin colouring.

    Lovely!

And is that sun, in Seattle, in January!?!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

That IS sun, in Seattle in Jan. UNBELIEVABLE.

I love light blue, love plaid, love harem pants - and love this outfit.

This is one of my favourite outfits on you. The tone on tone looks SO good.

Ooh, go Denise! You seriously rock pastels. Envy over here, party of one.

Thanks everyone. My dad thinks it would be a good shirt for either hiking (normally I wear gear) or a beach cover up ?!?!
It is a bit on the scratchy side, I had to wear a camisole. I have a pretty high tolerance for itch.

Those are terrific colors for you!

AG, I am sorry, but I have such a poison eye for those jeans. Maybe they're one of those things that look great in IRL? I just think - speaking as someone very straight up-and-down - that it kinda hides that you are shaped like a girl. It's possible I am missing the point? You're not dressing for me, but I will say I have seen others of your pants that I thought did more for your shape. Just my two cents here.

Pastels really suit you, Anna - I would be a complete wash out. Denise has a great eye!
    Amazing sunglasses too!

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

Dana, I totally get what you are saying. Yes these jeans are not figure flattering and probably man-repelling in the truest sense of the word. I would not wear them on a first date. But given my luck in dating it probably wouldn't matter. For me fashion is more about being interesting than looking good. I rarely fully embrace my hourglass shape.

Great color on you. I went thru the late 80s in saggy bottom britches. One young man ask me "why are you always wearing pajamas."?

  • replied 11 years ago

I love the shirt! It will probably soften a bit with repeated washings. Denise picked the perfect colorway for you.

True serendipity that your first choice was unavailable and Denise suggested this....truly a lovely color for you. And I am loving the monochromatic feel of this outfit which, I think, allows it to be interesting without slamming one over the head with its fashion-forwardness. :)
