WIW 8/25 Maximal blue and silver

Decided to go back a bit to my more maximal ways. Trying to decide if I've truly shifted away from this look. Thom Browne for Target/Neiman Marcus blazer, Robert Rodriguez tank with built in necklace, Sass & Bide silver jeans and Laurence Dacade denim patchwork boots. Light was tricky on this late summer morning, so multiple photos.
Bonus shots from my hike yesterday to Mt. Pilchuck (5.4 miles round trip, 2200' elevation gain). It's supposed to have fantastic views from the top lookout tower of the Cascade mountains, #6 is is the view at the top. It was pretty soggy/wet, hence my dewiness in #8.

So cool, Anna. Love the silver jeans in this combo. You do maximal looks so well. Is this still a commuting outfit? If so, you set the bar high! Gorgeous hike shots--they look so moody.

No, this is Sunday going to the grocery store outfit. I don't like to wear big necklaces commuting because they interfere with my cross body messenger bag.

Oh, gotcha. I want to shop where you shop. That Thom Browne blazer is a workhorse for you. It looks good in so many outfits!

Gorgeous landscape, gorgeous outfit.  I think it's possible to have a cohesive "look" and choose minimal for some days, and maxmimal for others.  The tonal harmony here is wonderful, as is the balance between trendy and quality classic items.

Oooh. I love your hair down with the red lipstick. Did you do something to get such perfect loose curls? The bonus pics are super fab. Very atmospheric. Also, I love your hiking look.

Ok, I'm not 100% about this outfit. I love the maximal necklace, the top with the pants. I'm not sure about the boots and the jacket. Maybe the jacket feels too taliored to me and boots too "rustic." I'd maybe switch one of those items out.

I've always like both your iterations of style - how did it feel being maximal today?

Your maximal look is divine...so well put together!

    PS your hair looks amazing!

If you are tired of this look, then it's time to move on.  But I love it on you.  You look beautiful in this tonal, sleek yet maximal look.  One of my favorites.

And you look so pretty in your outdoor shot!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Wow, you look amazing in that outdoor shot. Your love of what you are doing shines through. I would really love to go hiking with you some day. You go to the most amazing spots.

I love your outfit, too, by the way. I think you can swing both ways (maximal and more minimal) depending on your mood.

I think this maximal look suits you very well Anna - and IMHO, there's nothing wrong with floating between minimal and maximal outfits. Why not wear both depending on your mood?

Your hike looks incredible - and you look gorgeous in your "dewey" shot!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Hike shots are glorious. The tonal offsets the maximal in a good way.

Your hike shots are so beautiful:)   Anna I like this outfit on you a lot.  I say wear what you want when you want.  Minimal rock on you but so does maximal.

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Max or min, you are stylish either way! Great hiking pics, too.

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

Oh wow - I love these colors on you - makes your eyes just pop!  I think that if I had to choose just one "look" for you (max or min) - I'd probably go with minimal - but, you do a great job at maximal too.  If you like both looks, then I'd wouldn't worry about it - and just wear whatever style you fancy at the moment!  Beautiful hiking pics!
