WIW 7/19 Chains, grey and black

Wearing an old Vince slouchy tank with a built in chain necklace, AG ex-boyfriend jeans and LD Tuttle sandals. Even my toe nail polish matches.

I really like the grey on you! Great shoes too.

Fun top and fab shoes.  You have already been dubbed Queen Awesome Footwear, correct?

I do not always "get" fashion forward, so this could just be my silliness. I do sort of feel like the waist surrendering qualities of the shirt combined with the RATE vibe of the shorts is a tough juxtaposition. You pull it off, but it is perhaps not the most flattering. Which may not be your goal anyway.

Cute Summery outfit! Nice to see you in olive again (on the toes too!) - one of your best colours, to match your beautiful eyes.

LOVE how you are stepping up your commuting game. You must be enjoying this more than before - right?

Love!  Comfy and summery with edge.

What a fantastic tank! Love the color and the soft draping.

Love the soft drapey look of the top and the edgy vibe from your sandals and the chains plus distressing on shorts. An effortless looking 'true to you' outfit.

Angie, actually the shirt is grey and my toes are a dark silver.
I'm bummed though because I noticed that my shorts are already starting to wear a bit on the inner thigh. Guess they'll be a one season wonder.

Those shorts have been a real workhorse for you this summer - bummer that they are already wearing out. :( Love how the gray blends with the denim - and that you can do such high vamped shoes with shorts.

Anna!  We are toenail twins!  ;)

Love this relaxed look on you!

  • Ana replied 10 years ago

I really like this, Anna. I like your makeup, too. You look very fresh and summery. Are you enjoying all the warm weather up there right now?

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

Love that top and those shoes are delicious, looking good :)

Gah! Why do I still not have any LDs? (I ask like 2 seconds after the last time I asked.)

This is a very beautiful outfit. In the interest of discussion and illumination, I will explain why. Hehe.

So how can a grey tank and ripped jeans and ostensibly plain shoes be so beautiful? The answer is because they achieve Harmony. The draping of the top is balanced by the simplicity of jean shorts and shoes. The chains, the ornamentation, are kept in check so the outfit is not overwhelmed with geegaws. The interest is not provided by the accessories, as sometimes it might be, but by the draping of the top. Sweetness is also kept in check by the plainness of the shoes, which provides the edge that beauty needs. And the outfit gets out of the way of Anna. You can really see Anna in it to best advantage. The hairdo is part of this.

Wow Rachylou! Thanks for a stellar write up.

ETA I was actually thinking of selling the top. I'm not sure it's doing my any favors in the chest area. Plus with the way the chains are attached you have to handwash it.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

Fantastic.  Perfect for hot weather, I love each and every piece you are wearing!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Agree absolutely with Rachylou. What a great outfit.

Such a great summer outfit! This is minimal but interesting.

Great casual outfit. You have the best shoes!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

    Love it!

  • christy replied 10 years ago

My goodness but you're looking amazing! Terrific outfit and Rachylou has expressed the why perfectly and far more eloquently than I ever could! :) Love it!

Great casual look - bummer about the shorts though.

  • jayne replied 10 years ago

Absolutely fab outfit.  I have a top very like that one with the chains attached that has bordering on orphan since I stopped wearing it to work....but now I see I can style it with shorts for casual!  THanks

Those shoes look sooooo comfortable and so cool!
