WIW 11/16 Team Wear, mistake maybe

I posted these pleather sweatpants using the YLF app and several people brought up fit issues. Well, unfortunately I saw the comments too late. I think I was a bit enamored of the reasonable price and concept of them.
So I slouched down the waist band a bit. Wearing them with APC striped cashmere sweater, pink and blingy necklace from the same boutique on sale, and cutout buckle boots.
Did I purchase a big ol' turkey, or did I reasonably salvage them?
Yay - gobble, gobble turkey time and Thanksgiving is around the corner.
Nay - fashion miracle, they're saved.

I'm not sure about the pants, so I'll defer judgement on those. I do love the necklace and necklace together.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Anna, you look super pretty today. I love the necklace, too. I still need to get a statement necklace. It's on the list .

You know, maybe I shouldn't, but I really like these pants. They look fun, especially with those boots. My only question would be, will you end up feeling icky in them due to lack of breathability?

What was the fit issue that people mentioned? I guess if I have to ask, it maybe doesn't show and you saved them?

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

People were saying they had rise issues.

  • Marmee replied 10 years ago

I think the rise looks better slouched down. Cute with the sweater!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

They fit better slouched down but I'm still not sure of the texture. Maybe they photograph different like most black and leatherish stuff...

  • Aubergine replied 10 years ago

I don't see any fit issues and like those a lot better than I ever would have thought I'd like something described as "pleather sweatpants". Like the necklace and sweater too.

  • donnat replied 10 years ago

I dont see the fit issues either. I like them.

  • bj1111 replied 10 years ago

I like the fit. I think coveringup the waistband makes where the pleats start look a bit weird, but that is me.

I have a bit of a poison eye for this type of trouser so cannot comment objectively. I do want to say I love the striped top with the pink necklace. Such a great pairing.

  • karymk replied 10 years ago

I like 'em, they are your style.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Well, I think you solved the rise issue by slouching them down. Smart move -- and yay for elastic waistbands.

  • LACeleste replied 10 years ago

The pants question is too advanced for me :)  but stripes +necklace = incredible!!!!!!!

  • Sharon replied 10 years ago

You made me laugh with your yay or nay descriptions! I like the whole outfit. I didn't see the original picture, but I like the slouchy look of the pants, and I REALLY like the outfit. It is very "you" in the best possible way!

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

I think slouching them down seems to work.
Have you worn them with more refined footwear for "juxtaposing," or is that too predictable?

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

I didn't see the other thread but I like them here. Great top too!

  • Glory replied 10 years ago

I love the whole ensemble: sweater, necklace, footwear and the pants are fab! Wear and enjoy!

  • E replied 10 years ago

I find trouser fitting impossible on myself much less other people (I always seem to get creases, although not always in the same place), but I love your outfit & think the trousers are working. Them being black will probably let you get away with a less than perfect fit: I've noticed the lighter the colour the more obvious creases are.

  • Runcarla replied 10 years ago

OMG! I love this! It is so you! Totally cutting edge fashion, but approachable too. (I didn't see the first thread, but don't see any fit issues here.)

Though I know you love your stomp'n boots, it would be fun to see some other shoes, like a flat, or a pointy toed heel. I think this worth repeating, and different shoes can give it a completely different vibe. (I saw some pink patent Rock Studs this past weekend, that would look so cool with this outfit!)

  • Tanya replied 10 years ago

Honestly, I never even noticed the fit issue on the original thread, and I think they look totally awesome the way you are wearing them here. Cool combo (and those are some fantastic shoes).

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Love it paired with the necklace  -- NICE!

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

I did feel the pant had fit issues in the earlier thread but in this they look perfect!  Wearing the pant a little lower was all that was needed I guess.  Love this cool relaxed look!  The pants and the boots are TDF!

    Definitely a great find Anna.

  • Vicki replied 10 years ago

Your face says it all! You made a good buy with these and I didn't see the other thread. Love the top and necklace, too.

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

I love the whole look. Great separates and super when combined :)

  • krishnidoux replied 10 years ago

    I agree with Runcarla.
I would do: white slouchy tee + pleather pants + pink pointy slightly heeled.

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 10 years ago

I like them a lot, and they remind me of the ones I pinned on my board.   (Herve Leger Fall 2013).

Although,to echo the others, it would be fun to see it with some bright-colored, dainty footwear!

But you have a winner here, for sure :)

  • replied 10 years ago

They are a fun piece and I don't see any glaring fit issues. They are sweatpants, so I like the sporty footwear, as opposed to a pointy heel (which would look great with this type of slhouette, but does not jive to me given the casualness of the pant). I would wear with your Isabel Marant sneakers too.

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

The fit definitely looks better here than in the fitting room photos -- good move on slouching down the waistband. I love the top and necklace combo.

  • Diana replied 10 years ago

I didn't see the original post but the pants look good here. Great necklace too!

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

I went back to the original post, and yes, I could see the rise issue. I have this same issue myself sometimes, and slouching down the waist usually solves the problem. I think they look great on you now - so it's "fashion miracle, they're saved!"

  • Elly replied 10 years ago

The words "pleather sweatpants" make my thighs chafe.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

The fit looks better with the rise pulled down. Does it stay put?

11 out of 10 on the outfit. We might have to a crown you Queen Bling Necklace too. I've seen many pins with those exact booties, which you might like to check out.

  • Scarlet replied 10 years ago

I didn't see the original thread, but at least in these photos the outfit looks great. The pink necklace is a great touch.

I didn't have time to comment on much yesterday, though I did see your initial post. I think your styling here is fab and I don't see any fit issues. You look great.
