WIW 9/21 Oktoberfest Edition

Going to an Oktoberfest party (Hi rebekahphoto!).
Was trying to figure out a way to wear my Sass and Bide harness, it looks a bit like the top half of lederhosen. But it didn't look right over button down, and it's too cool for a tank.
So I came up with this. Which looks a bit like an extra from Madonna's Erotica  from Bavaria that got tired of being in a Oom-pah band.
Anyways, wearing R13 back yoke zip plaid shirt, R13 harness, black suede shorts, OTK grey sock, and LD Tuttle lace up boots.
Stein from Leavenworth's Oktoberfest from last year. I had wash the dust off it, guess I'm definitely more of a wino.
Late afternoon light is a bit harsh.

Prost!  You are too cute.   This, and E's recent wool shorts over leggings look, and this pin below are making me want to experiment with the shorts over gray woolies thing.

Anna-wonders never cease. Clever you! Thanks for the smile, as well as the outfit sharing. Love the black suede shorts with plaid.

Totally on theme without being a costume - well done!

    Witty interpretation! Klasse!

It is nice to see how you put together this look to achieve a modern, fresh Octoberfest look.  I hope you had a great time.

I love your outfit description (and no you don't look like that)! Double Ditto what Shevia said.

Oh fun! The suede shorts and harness are the perfect stand-in for lederhosen. My husband actually has lederhosen from when he went to Munich for Oktoberfest a couple of years ago (I didn't get to go, but in fairness, I was cruising through iceberg choked fjords in Greenland, so I can't really complain!).

I hope you had a blast! You go to some cool events.

I love how you've put together a lederhosen look with all fab pieces from your closet. Cheers :)

I love that: punk oktoberfest :)

Definitely the most chic Oktoberfest outfit I've ever seen!

My husband actually has lederhosen too. I got some off Etsy for him as a holiday gift last year. Guess it's about time to break them out!

Oh, I love the OTK socks! I recently tried to buy a pair, but they were so tight at teh top that they felt like they were going to cut off the circulation in my legs. :( Do you like yours? May I ask what brand they are?

Hansel from Basel, not cheap but good.

Great outfit. Festive & edgy! I have my husband's childhood lederhosen hanging on a hook at our cabin. He's actually northern italian from the Swiss border, but they like dressing their children up in adorable suede shorts there too...

Thanks for the link, Anna! They look to be good quality, with lots of cotton and wool. It's so hard to find natural fibers in socks these days. I might just order myself a couple of pairs!

Nice nod to tradition in your own way!
