WIW 9/10 Minimal Hard Edge

I've been inspired by the more minimal looks of Just Another. She also wears a lot of mini skirts. So I decided to pull my black denim H&M mini skirt out of the purge pile. Wearing with Skingraft sculpted shoulder leather jacket, chiffon trimmed tank, LD Tuttle perforated ankle boots, and Boyy embossed snake trimmed bag.
I had to fight my inclination to add jewelry and a bold lip. Wearing Mac's Viva Glam II.
Going out after work to celebrate a friend's birthday. The card I found her says "Today may you not feel over scheduled and under Chardonnayed" We both like wine, so I thought it was hilarious.

Love it - cute boots and bag especially :)

A little minimal for you Anna, but gorgeous nevertheless. That sounds like one fun birthday card.  Enjoy the celebration!

This is amazing, Anna. Love how all the black leather is softened just enough by the white and bare legs. The boots are incredible.

Great look and way to let restraint amp things up! Those pieces all shine.

    Smashing!

I love it!  I think I would love it with a bold lip too, but definitely no jewelry.

Plus or minus black tights, you could wear this all year in Seattle, right?

  • viva replied 9 years ago

Nice. I think it's so interesting that you are inspired by that blog - her style is so minimal I'm kind of shocked.

    LOVE! Nice legs ;)

    Looking very good!

Wow. You are gorgeous all softened up.

And I really love that bag. Such a great size and shape. And the snake!

I really like seeing you in minimal edge - it's a great way for the individual fab pieces you own to shine! Enjoy the party. That sounds like the kind of card I would like!

I really like this!  The clean neckline of the top lets the pointy shoulders of the jacket be the focus.  I wonder how many of us would instinctively think of a necklace or scarf in the past to 'fill that space'.  It's so nice open and clean.  And great legs!!

    Great look!

I too might be tempted to add eyes or lips when going out at night but nothing else.

I really enjoyed looking at her blog when you recommended it and LOVE how you've used the inspiration! The lack of accessories and bold make up focus my eye on the architecture of the jacket and boots, and on your great legs and beautiful face. Flattery isn't always the goal, but when it is, this is a fantastic look on you.

Awesome outfit! You look great. I really like the clean look of the jacket over the top, no jewelry necessary.

  • calmwave replied 9 years ago

You look stunning! Probably one of my favorites of your outfits so far. You do a soft makeup look very well, elevating this look further still.

I wasn't sure what I was going to see based on your title, but I love this look, Anna. I have lots of faves of yours, and I'm adding this one to it. You can definitely do minimal; you're gorgeous. The soft lip color is truly flattering. The strict black and white with bare legs is excellent.

Anna - you look so good in this!  I love this more minimalist style for you!  Great outfit - so cool!

  • RoseandJoan replied 9 years ago

This is a head turning look Anna, the pieces each have amazing details but do not overpower the wearer or each other :-)

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

I love how the snake print on the bag echoes the turning leaves behind it.

    Love this simple, textured look.

  • bj1111 replied 9 years ago

Love! Maybe a deeper nude lip?

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Oh wow, what an amazing outfit Anna. Understated but still packs a punch. Way to take initiative on the topper+shoes front, both are fabulous pieces but the jacket is particularly fabulous. Those shoulders!! I'd also be tempted to add a bolder lip, but have to say the softer nude look here is quite enchanting. Hope you have a great time! How fun that you were able to find such an appropriate card ^^

Love, love, love this look!! Fab booties but really lets YOU shine!

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Fab booties, and good call on taking the skirt out of the purge pile.

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

Of course I love this, black and white, minimal… plus LD Tuttles on the bottom.  Put this in your FFBO file Anna, it looks terrific on you!

  • Janet replied 9 years ago

Fantastic. I love the minimal treatment -- right down to the low-key makeup, but then I'm partial to subtle lip colors anyway. I think a bold lip would have been too obvious with this.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Totally love this on you! Will check out the blog.

Anna this looks great.  Love those boots.  The simplicity of the outfit is killer and that jacket is so fab on you.  I browed that blog for a bit last night (ok it was actually hours lol) and I really liked many of her outfits.  She clearly loves her neutrals and there was a lot of black and white inspiration.  She does remind me of you and I can see elements of your style throughout.  Thanks for sharing the blog.
