WIW 4/27 A return and basics

Well I finally got that tie-dye/acid wash 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket. Except that in the process of driving to store and choosing a random photo site, I realized it's not going to work. It was too tight in shoulders and upper back, very noticeable when I was driving. I'm so far away from IT, I'm not sure who it would work for. So I packed it up and returned it this afternoon, along with a MSGM flame sweatshirt that rode up, the Rag & Bone Miramar pajama jeans and the Ash zebra slip on sneakers.

Ended up wearing my wool blue plaid Pendleton shirt, white jeans
and Laurence Dacade denim patchwork boots. Nothing special, but it works I think.

Your nothing special still looks pretty fab, Anna. You have such a knack for looking stylish and posh (for lack if a better word.) I'm sad about your tie dye jacket didn't work out . It's so cool!

Live the backdrop in 1 and the new shoes are divine!

That's too bad about the jacket. I LOVE that outfit. It has a soft pretty touch, especially with the column of white. Killer look.

I love the blue and white outfit too. Another killer look, and one of my Anna favourites. Pretty palette and I LOVE the white jeans. The shirt is gaping on the bust though, Anna - and it's worse when you sit down. Needs a little fashion tape.

Killer.  Both killer.  I always love the way you combine bold colors but I am blown away with the simple success of how you styled these subdued outfits.
I hope you take my wanting to copy your styling as a compliment - especially that first outfit.   Both killer.  You seem to take such care with your styling that I think you might prefer to nail the fit and look for a a sewing or alteration fix to where the Pendleton shirt pulls across the bustline.  Or ... I don't know if you would consider this since it would change the look,  but if you unbuttoned the next top button of the Pendleton plaid wool shirt  and wore an underlayer  you could still get perfect fit without adjustments.  A scarf could disguise the chest if you wanted a less womanly look.  Really smooth and killer outfits.

Too bad about the jacket but I beg to differ regarding your second outfit being nothing special. The white jeans are fantastic on you.

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Oh wow both of these are gorgeous Anna. Too bad about the jacket. LOVE the second outfit, the patchwork echoing the plaid is super fun. And of course those nude Tuttles are TDF.

That's too bad about the jacket. The second outfit looks fantastic, I love the boots with that shirt, and the white jeans make the outfit look perfect for a spring day.

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Love your eye makeup whatever you've done.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

Bummer :( ... It looks lovely on you! I love the white and nude styling to let the jacket shine. Are you trying a size up?

Your final outfit looks gorgeous too. Love the bookending with the boots.

Love you in these colors, particularly for spring.  They're light, but not sweet.  Sorry about the jacket, but what a terrific outfit on the fashion "rebound."

What a shame about the jacket - but love your "nothing special" outfit - looks pretty darn special to me.

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

Too bad about the jacket, it looks amazing.

I love the way the boots pattern mix with the Pendleton.

  • Astrid replied 9 years ago

Too bad the jacket didn't fit, but tightness around the shoulders isn't fun so it's good you returned it. Love the shoes in the first outfit! The second outfit looks awesome too, the shirt is great paired with the boots.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I just had a thought, Anna. Your light blue ACNE booties will look smashing with the second outfit too. xo

  • Greyscale replied 9 years ago

I've been drooling over those LD Tuttles. And the acid wash jacket is cool but I hate it when jackets are tight in the back, so good call on returning it.

I really like the outfit you switched to!

  • Marmee replied 9 years ago

Love both outfits!  Bummer about the jacket.  Of course tightness in the shoulders is the story of my life.  Great colors in #2.

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

The blue and white IS fantastic on you. Too bad about the other stuff. Are those the Lamb Ear shoes in the close up?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

Too bad about the returns Anna but good for you for not keeping what ain't working!

Love you in those soft white and blue colors - very pretty.

  • fuzzylogic replied 9 years ago

Sorry it didn't work for you, annagybe! No sense in keeping though :-(

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

Too bad! The colour really suits your colouring. Good for you for being picky about fit. Your second outfit is fab too.

  • Jeanie replied 9 years ago

Too bad the jacket didn't work because the colors are so good on you.  Love those tan boots and the colors in the 2nd outfit are gorgeous on you too!

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

Wow, look at Anna's "nothing specials", my head is spinning today on the YLF!:-)

  • leopardluxe replied 9 years ago

Love both outfits! As always you are the epitome of cool and stylish. The bookending of the boots and the pendleton are great in your second outfit. Bummer about the tie dye jacket. I feel your pain. As a rather petite IT with a broader back and fuller chest than is usual for my size, I often have to choose between having jackets that are somewhat snug in the back in order for them to look like they fit everywhere else, or having enough room in the back and having the jacket look too large on me everywhere else.

As I scrolled down, I dropped my arrow and wound up on Angie's comment.  It was exactly what I was thinking: LOVE the blue outfit.  Simple, but so nice.  BTW, my boob-gap-stop is to sew little tiny clear snaps in. More permanent than fashion tape, but not too noticeable.  I need to do it on my shirt that I'm wearing today, so we're both in good company!

I was super happy to see your nude shoes too.  :)  Glad you decided to buy them.  They look funky and comfy.
