WIW 3/14 Third time's a charm, maybe?

I got inspired by this pin from Angie.

Wearing my Alexander Wang hybrid cross front khaki sweatpant (I wore these pants to my first Seattle meet up about 3 years ago). Black drapey dolman sleeve sweater, Isabel Marant wedge sneakers and Burberry snood.
First I tried my caramel Carven moto, the warm tones clashed horribly with the khaki. Then my chocolate suede Alexander Wang moto, too dark plus it's supposed to rain. Finally my Maison Martin Margiela for H&M deconstructed jacket. I think the light parts of the exposed seams lighten the look, plus the deconstruction goes with odd ball construction of the pants.

Oh definitely, the third one nails it. This is a great look for you. Those pants are unusual with the two tone; I like them. Love how you put your spin on the idea from the pin.

I think the 3rd is my favorite too. Great interpretation!

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

Honestly, I like them all! But I think the third is especially awesome.

Your hair is looking great lately. Are you letting it grow out? Yesterday I had a hair appointment and my stylist and I were debating on letting my bangs grow out for a change, and going with a bit on length on me for a while. I'm always changing my mind about my hair.

I like # 1 best but they all look good to me.

Wow, so much fun seeing the progression to perfection. Well done.

Those pants are so awesome, love the diagonal seam. They are all fantastic, but #3 is just brilliant. You look great!

#3 is my favorite. I always love seeing the thought process in how an outfit comes together!

  • replied 11 years ago

    I like 3 also!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

I like seeing your thought process here, and I agree #3 is best - the light parts of the jacket help keep a long line, too, which I like. You were so ahead of everyone with those sweats!

  • Mo replied 11 years ago

Yep, #3 is the winner. I'm with Janet on your hair. I noticed it right off, and also think it's looking great.
(Janet, I have grown out my bangs this year and am enjoying the change)

I love them all! Can't pick a fave!

And yes! Your HAIR!! So gorgeous, Ms. Blonde Bombshell!!

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

I love the cut of the jacket in #1, but agree that the colors are optimal. I love the third jacket, because of the lighter color pieces--works so well with the pants. You look fab!

  • Niefern replied 11 years ago

Great, especially #3. Actually I like your version much better than the pinterest one.

  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago

#3 here too - the lighter seams really bring it all together.

  • Nicole D replied 11 years ago

Hit the sweet spot on #3, although they all look good. You have a great sense of colour.

  • kellygirl replied 11 years ago

I love reading your thought process. You are able to pinpoint exactly what you do and don't like. I wish I had more of this kind of analytical muscle! Fab outfit!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Like Jonesy, I really like the cut of the jacket in #1 with the ensemble - (looks like you have long arms like I do!) But the colours in #3 are spot on - great bookending with the khaki in the MMM jacket. Fabulous!

I remember those pants :) So fun!

I like seeing the options you tried, and I do like #3 best. What a great look; perfect outfit for those wedge sneakers! I like your hair side-parted like that, too.

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Love the look in #3. Goes to show that a little closet play pays off!

  • replied 11 years ago

Oh yeah baby! It really makes me feel better to know that you don't always get it right the first time Anna. Can you believe a man at a paint store once said to me, "I've never heard of a warm beige versus a cool one."? I should have had your first picture to illustrate! I love your final outfit outcome.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Wow! Love 1 and 3. Better than the inspiration xx

  • replied 11 years ago

You are right. #3 is the winner.

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

    I like them all too!

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

Thanks everyone! I think I need a cool shaded mid tone jacket.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Love how you tell us what you saw as wrong with the first two outfits, which looked pretty darn good already. But agree #3 is the best!
