WIW 1/5 Evening edition, to appease my father.

So my dad hated my outfit I wore during the day. So to go out to an early dinner I changed.
This cream cashmere turtleneck is part of the Pendleton Christmas present from Dad, worn with JBrand gold brocade jeans and Rockport snake print booties and matching clutch.
He likes this outfit much better.

Looks great on you, Anna. Nice of you to appease your Dad.

  • morethanbeige replied 11 years ago

Love this on you, Anna. You look gorgeous. How nice for Dad.

  • Nicole D replied 11 years ago

Agree with Morethan, you look amazing in this outfit. Those jeans are perfect.

  • replied 11 years ago

You look gorgeous and really, really slim. I love!
( It's fitting my personal agenda for figure flattery so I'm very excited about this one lol)

  • Kari replied 11 years ago

Wow. So many rich textures and tones - between the trademark rose gold watch, the gold brocade, and the brown snakeskin, I'm SWOONING.

I think this would be a good one to keep in the rotation for a first date capsule.

  • replied 11 years ago

Looks great, and I agree, first date worthy!

  • Girl X replied 11 years ago

I don't know what your morning outfit was, but the evening edition looks great! Exciting and a bit daring, yet sleek and easy to process - yep, definitely first dateable.

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

Your dad is so generous he deserves this gorgeous tribute. I think you stayed true to your wild side and showed him some tribute.

  • replied 11 years ago

I love those jeand. Agree with Karie, good first date, kind of mainstream but with spunk :)

  • nicoleb replied 11 years ago

Love the brocade mixed with the snakeskin!

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

So elegant, but the pattern mixing and rich texture keep "you" front and center. Your hair is particularly lovely, as well.

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

Great outfit! Your dad has great taste!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

How sweet of you to think of your Dad :)

This outfit is drop dead gorgeous on you Anna - the soft colour palette, the fit of everything, the rich textures - all wonderful when put together. Were your legs always this long???

This definitely tamer (for lack of a better word) than your usual outfit, but still looks like "you". Well done!

Anna, this is just divine. Love the brocade and snake combo. You look great in those jeans. And you have me seriously think I need to own a cream turtleneck even though I'm so not a turtleneck girl!

  • deb replied 11 years ago

Those are wonderful jeans and look great on you. I am going to ask and don't answer if the question bothers you, but does it bother you when you feel the need to change for your dad?

  • ironkurtin replied 11 years ago

I think you look lovely. I do like this outfit more than the other one - especially for having dinner with dads.

BTW I think it is so nice you are so close with your father!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Gorgeous! Haven't seen the other outfit yet, but there is nothing wrong with making your dad happy, especially when you still look fabulous and yourself.

  • replied 11 years ago

Oh, this is so pretty. I love the mix of prints and textures.

Hope you have a great dinner!

  • Lulu replied 11 years ago

Love how you stayed true to yourself yet honored your father, and cream is definitely a color that lets you shine!

  • cobaltblue replied 11 years ago

I'm with Shannon - were your legs always this long!? You look great, and I'm glad your dad is happy too.

  • DonnaF replied 11 years ago

Very first date-able. I want to pet that sweater! I'm sure your dad was pleased that you were wearing it.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    Looking good!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

You are a sweetheart to dress tonight for your dad....and you look fantastic doing it! GORGEOUS jeans - lovely with the sweater, and the clutch is terrific, too.

  • Mamapicklejuice replied 11 years ago

You look AMAZING!!! I am totally in love with this outfit on you, Anna!

  • bj1111 replied 11 years ago

second cobaltblue...you look sooo tall in this outfit. the pants and the boots act tonally to really elongate. who would have thunk!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Love that sweater! How nice of you to accommodate your dad. :)

  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago

Pleasing dad, looking like you & looking fashion forward - all wins imo.

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

You look gorgeous, and that was a great balancing act --- to please the person you're with without looking unlike yourself! (i find that a tough one myself)

Btw, what was it he disliked about your earlier outfit?

  • Scarlet replied 11 years ago

You do look seriously fantastic! White looks really good on you. I love the pattern mixing. I think torn jeans are just totally baffling to people over a certain age.

  • kimlee replied 11 years ago

I agree with the others. It was very sweet (and touching) for you to honor your day in this way. You look KILLER in this outfit. The colors and texture are beautiful, and those is just enough of edge to still feel like you. I definitely think this look should go in the first date capsule.

  • kkards replied 11 years ago

love the jeans. you look great.

  • Emily replied 11 years ago

Very sweet of you to change! The sweater is beautiful on your complexion.

Sidenote - are those the Rockport Presia booties? How comfortable are they? I've just ordered them in black...

  • christy replied 11 years ago

Anna, I love this outfit on you. The combined textures in the jeans and boots still keeps it "funky" and you and the simplicity of everything else really lets those two items shine. Sweet of you to change for your dad! :)

  • Kristin SF replied 11 years ago

Wow, you look fantastic in this outfit. Super slim, very elegant, and yet still you. Probably one of my favorite WIWs of yours that I've seen since I joined YLF. :-)

  • moira replied 11 years ago

Nothing wrong with appeasing the old man, especially when the result is this stunning.
You really do look very leggy in those jeans.

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

Thanks everyone! I will file this away for future reference.

Yes, Emily they're the Presia. For the height they're really comfortable. If it wasn't for my back I'd probably could wear them for hours.

  • Niefern replied 11 years ago

You look fabulous, no wonder you father liked it!

  • Jules replied 11 years ago

I'm sooo jealous on this one! I fell in love with that Rockport snakeskin but the shoes are completely out of the question for my wobbly ankle and the clutch just too impractical. AND, I am love with those jeans. Plus the whole ensemble is just so pretty on YOU!
It's so interesting to see stuff from the store in an actual outfit. The snake print really functions as a neutral, with added interest.

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

You look great! Dare I say it - it's a very *conventionally flattering outfit* - i.e., modest but attractive and shapely. Not to mention, fashion forward: it's still interesting.

And yes, it was very lovely of you to dress for you dad. There's this line from the horrible, torrid (but fun!) mini series, Princess Daisy, about daughters keeping fathers young in that way. I think it's a good principle. Always remembered it.

Of course, being the wretched creature I am, I'm not I've ever seen you look so normal and I'm not sure I like it. Lol.
