WIW 1/27 Black, black and black

Feel like a fashion ninja. These leather paneled skinny jeans by Superfine have languished in my closet. Worn with a black cashmere turtleneck and Isabel Marant wedge sneakers. Also more pictures of the Helmut Lang puffer, which after Dana's (ironkurtin) comment I'm having second thoughts about. I think I like it better open, which is completely useless for a puffer.
Would appreciate more input on the puffer.

I see the puffer more as lighty dusted with snow than as with bleach.... Although if you doubt it send it back. No room for items that are not LOVED!

    I love me some black!

Still iffy on that puffer, but I would not be wearing it. One thing I do NOT need in Auz is a puffer!

I love the whole outfit, including the puffer.

But I agree with Sarah that if you don't love it, it should go back!

I love the different textures of black on black. Superb!

I'm on the fence about the puffer. It does look a little bleach dyed to me, which seems 80's to me. I think if you don't love it closed, send it back.

The puffer reminds me of natural indigo dyed textiles I've seen and loved, so that makes me biased in its favour, but you sound unsure so that alone makes me vote R.

LOVE the paneled skinnies and the whole outfit.

Anna, I find this really attractive, both open and closed. The pattern looks very intentional to me and the tones are incredibly flattering in you. It works particularly well against the black but I'm wondering how it looks over other colors. I agree with your dad that the grey on grey may not have been the best combo. How do you think it will work over other things in your wardrobe? I really like it and it you think it's going to work then I say keep:)

Oh and I love the total outfit. You wear black well and I love the simplicity here:)

I actually like the puffer, which might act counterintuitively in your case, as our tastes are so different. I don't see any bleach or tie dye connotations either. It is different from all of the run of the mill puffers I see everywhere. Big plus in my book.

    love the WIW.

Love the all black outfit! Great jeans and they make your legs look fab.

As for the puffer I pretty much love it. I'm not entirely sold on the colour, but you pull off the colour well. And your style is more edgy than mine. Love the asymmetrical zip. And do you see the stitching makes an "A" for Anna right in the front. Subtle but cool. Might have to keep it for that reason alone, lol.

Love the skinnies. Puffer is ok but didn't you just buy a green one?

Beautiful outfit - looks arty and chic - very Helmut Lang. I agree with the snow dusted comment. I like the puffer!

I don't think the puffer is a 10, FWIW. The fit when closed is odd on the neck to my eye. I do like the pattern though, and the fit everywhere else but on the neck when the zipper is closed.

I'm glad that those skinnies came out to play because they look great! Fab with the poloneck and sneakers.

Love the whole thing, and I still love the puffer, especially closed. Does not look bleach or tie dye to me, more of a moody photo texture effect from what I see. Like Zap, it is a big plus that it is different from most puffers.

I think the puffer is not especially flattering, though that is ongoing puffer problem. Too much stuff at your neck and too washed out. It does look better with those pants, though.

Love the black on black! Anna, what had you undecided about the puffer originally? I missed that post.

I like the puffer (in particular the color and the shape) but if you don't feel fantastic in it, it should go back...

  • sarah replied 11 years ago

I like the whole thing, including the puffer, although I do see what Angie's saying about the neck, now that I look...

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to return the puffer. Even though it was from a sample sale, it's still too expensive not to be 100% for me.

Fashion Ninja - I love it. Adore the panelled skinny jeans with the jacket - wow!
