WIW 1/23 sweatshirt and skirt

This outfit Angie posted a little while ago generated a lot of discussion.
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-or-frumpy

My only non-gear sweatshirt is a old sequin front Vince one, paired with an Acne zipper front midi skirt, patent bow-topped smoking slippers. The shoes are by Lanvin and I got them on super clearance at Nordies. Also I finally got a new puffer, it's forest green and by Moncler I got on super sale. Trying a new liquid eyeliner for a cat eye look.

Wow! Who are you? This doesn't look like the normal "anna" outfits I am used to but I love it! I am digging the embellished dressy sweatshirts with a dressy skirt.

  • Isabel replied 11 years ago

OK, I simply don't have a superlative that can describe how much I love this outfit. This is my favorite all time outfit on you. I love every piece, I love your hair, I love the eyeliner. It "seems" as if it should be casual, put it has so much "spunk" to it. This is a 10 for me.

  • cciele replied 11 years ago

That's completely unfrumpy and totally fabu. You show them how to do it! Now I am wanting to jump on the sweatshirt + skirt train.

    I'm favorite-ing this one!

    What does your dad think?

  • bj1111 replied 11 years ago

    love!!!

eta: love!!! i think this works over the street photo because of the proportions. and no collar. and the shoes.

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

Pure Awesomeness! I love everything about this fabulous look!

I know I've already said this, but I can't convey enough how gorgeous you look with your hair pulled back!! It's a smashing look for you, truly.

Wow, different than what I have seen so far but great! Love the shoes, and your hair pulled back!

  • replied 11 years ago

I love it when you pull your bangs back, looks so extra-pretty!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Love this! Puffer + patent + sequins = awesome. That color green is really nice on you!

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

Love. Pure love. I like the slit front skirt and adore the slippers. The bows are just right, so un-Baby Jane.

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

    Fan-freaking-tastic.

This is how it should be done. Your version has a sense of playfulness while it still has sophistication. I foresee a copycat using my space-age sweater (which has a bit of a sweatshirt vibe) in my future. :-) Ooh, perhaps with my mixed media leather/ponte black skirt. I never would have thought to put those together, but you've got my gears working!

    KILLER

This outfit reminds me of this outfit formula (see the last two outfits):

    http://youlookfab.com/2012/08/.....weatshirt/

And I almost bought those shoes.

  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago

This looks so good - very sophisticated - in a relaxed & modern way.

  • Tina.b replied 11 years ago

Super amazing, what a great look for you. Love your Moncler, fab colour. Great mix of pieces. And the shoes are great, I have a Lanvin shoe addiction!

  • moira replied 11 years ago

That is how it's done. You look so wonderful and that cat eye is super cute.

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Yours is so much better and surprisingly I like the addition of the puffer.

Love your shoes which go really well with your clean up do.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Oh this is soooo GOOD!!! Love each piece on its own and then when combined, it makes a visually interesting and really flattering outfit. Great colour on the puffer and I am seriously lusting after those shoes.

This would be a great date night outfit BTW.

  • moira replied 11 years ago

Is this for the wine tasting? It would be perfect.

  • kkards replied 11 years ago

Love. Simple, casual, yet it still has an elegance that shines thru.
And I agree, this would be an excellent great date night outfit.

  • Vildy replied 11 years ago

I love it, too. You own this look.

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

Thanks everyone. Though I should have probably waited a bit later in the season to try this look. My legs were cold running around downtown. I went and got my eyebrow cleaned up, I haven't touched them in at least six months.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Love! From your head - your hair looks great back- to your gorgeous toes. Those loafers are amazing.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

LOVE! Ahh that sequined sweatshirt makes me smile every time I see it, so cool. Quite like the girly lower half paired with the sweatshirt; your proportions here are really fab. And the shoes are gorgeous!! I can picture the cat eye, and I bet it really made your eyes sparkle some serious green :D I too feel like this would be a good option for a wine tasting or a date.

  • Jenava replied 11 years ago

I love this! Would it work as well with black tights, to make it better to wear in the cold? You look 100 times more snazzy than the inspo pic, IMO...but, also just a different vibe, you know? Not that "intentionally frumpy" vibe.

  • Marley replied 11 years ago

Ok - this is just soooo cool Anna. Love it! And, I love your cat-eyes with the hairstyle - just a great look!

  • ironkurtin replied 11 years ago

Anna, you look great! Pull your hair back more often!

  • Kyle replied 11 years ago

It's all been said, but this outfit just works for you, Anna. It has edge, and unexpected elements, but I think this pared down sensibility REALLY showcases your beauty. Look at you...lit from within and breathtakingly chic.

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

I'm loving this so much, because it's unexpected in every way, even with the hairstyle. Love each individual piece and then all together!

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

Figure flattery, chic, and polished! Luv it! The pulled back hair is the icing on the cake! YLF!

  • elpgal replied 11 years ago

    You look great!

  • Laura replied 11 years ago

This is fantastic!! You have outdone yourself, Anna. Love every little thing about it, from the hair to the sequins and especially the SHOES. Killer!
