WIW 12/29 Basics with an edge

In hitting the sales yesterday, True Religion had 30% off the entire store. I got two pairs of boyfriend jeans, including these grey Cameron's. They're 100% cotton and made in the USA. I also got a pair of minimally distressed medium blue Brianna's.
With black cashmere turtleneck from Costco, Barneys giant covered stud black leather belt, and Giuseppe Zanotti ankle boots with a brass plate on the heel I got at the Barneys sale.

I'm very interested in how those booties wear. I'm hard on shoes and I think all of them should have brass toe rims and heel backs. :D  Does the brass end up making them look great longer or is the opposite and it scratches up? (but in an interesting way of course :D )

The gray Cameron's look fantastic. I have a pair of blueish-aqua lightweight Brianna's and I wear them all spring/summer. And I like that squared toe and heel on the boots. You got some great items on sale!

  • Tanya replied 5 years ago

Love, love this look!  The jeans are great, and so are the boots.  I am also very curious to see which Brianna's you got, as I have a pair medium blue Brianna's myself (they are called Pony Express).

  • ironkurtin replied 5 years ago

    OMG the boots.

  • Shirley replied 5 years ago

I quite like the minimalist approach. Very refreshing.

  • Aubergine replied 5 years ago

Beautiful boots! I really like the wash of those jeans too.

  • Diana replied 5 years ago

Ooh, nice. I like the minimalist color palette/style combined with the blingy boots.  The boots are making me drool!  I think I might give up on the tall gold zipper boots and look at booties/shorter boots instead.  There are so many awesome options and they are easier to fit for me.

Love your new Camerons!  I would wear this outfit in a heartbeat.  I have been eyeing that sale too.  Do they run like regular Camerons or Brianas?  I usually size down 1-2 sizes from skinny jean size for bf jeans.

  • annagybe replied 5 years ago

I actually sized up in these. I wanted it baggier. My other Cameron's that are heavily distressed are my normal size.

  • Gracie replied 5 years ago

I like all the individual components and how you put them together and everything fits you so well - this is one of my favorite color palettes.  The boots are outstanding!

  • catgirl replied 5 years ago

Love it! My current color scheme...

  • Lyn D. replied 5 years ago

    Those boots are great!
I never thought about my rear-view pre-YLF, but these leave a fantastic impression.
I am loving the grey BF jeans too- don't you love a sale that has great stuff in your size :)

Very nice! Love the grey Camerons.

Love the jeans! I have been looking for the right pair of gray jeans. Although I have no clue regarding sizing for that brand.

  • Sveta replied 5 years ago

Love it - simple and strong! The booties are awesome and the jeans fit you beautifully! Grey color is a nice change from the ever present blue denim.

  • shevia replied 5 years ago

Love! I have been wearing my newly ebayed grey jeans non-stop. And the boots are fantastic!

  • JAileen replied 5 years ago

This is a classy outfit. I envy you those grey jeans with such a great fit and those booties.

  • rae replied 5 years ago

Very nice! Your figure looks so great in that fitted turtleneck, and I love the contrast of the light, ripped, baggier denim.

  • Debbie replied 5 years ago

    Love those shoes!

  • La Belle Demimondaine replied 5 years ago

I really really really love this on you, Anna!   You look edgy, and kind of no-nonsense, but there is a sexy vibe to this outfit as well.   You should take this outfit for a test drive night out, for sure :)

  • Caro in Oz replied 5 years ago

Love basics with an edge .  The boots are just fantastic :)

  • Ginkgo replied 5 years ago

Love all the pieces here, you look fabulous. Wear this on a date night.

  • Aquamarine replied 5 years ago

Love this! The grey boyfriend jeans are awesome, and a nice change from blue. They should be very versatile.

  • gryffin replied 5 years ago

Anna - I absolutely love these minimalist outfits on you!!  Great jeans and boots and the black turtle and belt are perfect.  They show you off to perfection!!

Those jeans are great! And the boots...! YLF

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Fabulous boots! Wow. And what a deal on the TR jeans. I love my 100% cotton ones.

  • goldenpig replied 5 years ago

This is a great example of how to add edge to outfits!

  • Catnip replied 5 years ago

I love this outfit, especially the jeans and the booties.  You look terrific in black and gray.  I also like your hair, which seems to be getting longer, and which always looks terrific no matter how you wear it.

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

Killer to the power of Killer

Add this to the list of favourite Anna outfits of all time. (I am a sucker for outfit simplicity).

  • rachylou replied 5 years ago

Superb! The blacks and greys shake it up a bit.

  • K. Period. replied 5 years ago

Of course I love! You look phenomenal in this, Anna. I love how the simpler turtleneck and color palette lets the boots, distressing and belt shine.  I also adore how it makes me want to look at you!  It isn't just "look at that fabulous outfit!!!"  It is "look at that gorgeous girl in that fabulous outfit!!!"

  • Ariadne replied 5 years ago

Gorgeous.  This is exactly how I want to dress.

I'm in love with the belt.  Is it a Barneys house brand piece?

  • annagybe replied 5 years ago

Yes the belt is the Barneys brand. I got it two or three years ago though.

  • Grey Rainbow replied 5 years ago

Stunning! You look fabulous and What a great illustration of how to add edge to an outfit. I remember your post from earlier this year about footwear as statement makers. Now I get it!

  • shemarie replied 5 years ago

I adore this look on you Anna.  Minimalist maybe but never boring.  You have such a knack for adding "edge" in an elegant and fashion-forward way, but remaining true to yourself.  Love it all!
