WIW 11/14 My take on the timeless formula

This is my first blog post. It is now live.
I decided to do my spin on this timeless formula.
http://youlookfab.com/2012/11/.....ss-casual/
Wearing my new Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton polka dot scarf, Nanette Lepore cropped leather jacket, Rodarte for Target striped tee, R13 harem jeans, Isabel Marant gold wedge sneakers and Alexander Wang bag.
Sorry about the lighting. I tried every position on my deck.

OK, *this* is what I was talking about in your thread earlier today. I love that you can take the "timeless" formula and make it unique! The jeans and the wedge sneakers make it distinctly you.

I'm happy to see that you're doing a blog here, Anna!
I love the title, since I'm another one who's glad to get of of scrubs once in a while and wear some real clothes.

As the others have said, I love the way you've taken a basic formula and put your own unique and edgy slant on it.
One lesson that I've learned from you is to not always just go for the plain vanilla version of an item, but to look for some interesting details, because those details make all the difference in your overall look.

Here the funky jeans and shoes make your outfit stand out from the crowd!

Lady you are brave! Haha, I could never pull off that kind of cut in jeans nor bright shoes like that. Well done Anna! :D

What a great twist on the formula. I really like how you can take a look and make it your own. You excel at your style!

See, that is an example of taking a timeless classic and truly making it yours. All those curated pieces together make an entirely unique reinvention.

  • Inge replied 11 years ago

Yep, this *is* the Anna-version of a gorgeous classic. This outfit is an 11 for me from head to toe. I love how the jacket (beautiful!), belt, bag and polka dots in your scarf are all black, looks terrific with the vibrant green. And then you throw in your gold sneakers for an unexpected finishing touch. I'm taking notes.

Also: glad to see your blog is up and running!

Unique, edgy, and timeless too! A+

  • Jenava replied 11 years ago

Rock n Roll! Love those shoes with this look.

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

The green and gold really amps it up!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

This is fabulous. The only part my eyes need to adjust to are the shoes, but the scarf, striped shirt, leather bag, jeans, belt and bag are perfect together. Really love how you tied the scarf (I am on a mission). p.s. after a few looks my eyes are already adjusting and love how the gold matches your hair.

Great outfit! I have a pair of gold shoes too and I find they go with so many outfits.

  • JR replied 11 years ago

LOL! I particularly love the look on your face. Like the cat who swallowed the canary.

My eye has still not adjusted to harem pants, but the rest of this is just great. And of all the ways you've worn those pants, this is the one I like the best.

YES! timelless and of the times and beyond. You look really great.

Yay Anna has a blog. I love the blogs, it makes it so much easier to find outfits that I want to revisit:). This is a fabulous outfit Anna. Classic and timeless with fashion forward elements.

Love it, what a nice and personalized take on the timeless look. You look fantastic!

  • Atlantia replied 11 years ago

Very cool! It is really helpful to see lots of interpretations of formulas, because creativity isn't usually my thing. Thanks!
I would love to see the scarf tied different way...or not tied at all. I have an Amelia Earhart obsession.
